BILL HOWELL
Bill Howell is the author of four poetry collections, including Porcupine Archery, just released by Insomniac Press. Â His Ghost Test Flights (Rubicon Press) was a winner in last year’s WCDR Chapbook Challenge. Â Recent & upcoming work in Antigonish Review, Descant, Existere, Literary Review of Canada, Magma (UK), New York Quarterly, Nthposition (UK), Rampike, and The Best Canadian Poetry in English, 2008.
RUTH WALKER
Ruth E. Walker is an internationally published and award-winning writer and poet. She has twice won the Dan Sullivan Memorial Poetry Contest and most recently achieved 3rd place in the prestigious Banff Centre Bliss Carman Poetry Award, also earning her a nomination for a National Magazine Award.
Ruth has served since 2007 as an artist in residence to the Durham District School Board with Durham Alternative Secondary School. Published in journals and anthologies such as Prairie Fire, Contemporary Verse 2, River King Poetry Supplement (US), Cadenza (UK), Rain Dog (UK), Ruth was a founding editor for the literary journal LICHEN Arts & Letters Preview. Ruth also serves on the board of directors of The Writers’ Circle of Durham Region and the Driftwood Theatre Group, teaches creative writing in workshops and community programs, is a partner in Writescape Writing Retreats and maintains a freelance editing and writing service.
