Moira MacDougall’s artistic life began as a serious student of classical ballet and modern dance. Her poetry weds her love of movement with voice and linguistic performance. Her work has been published in Canadian and US literary journals. “Bone Dream” is her first collection of poems, published by Tightrope Books in the spring of 2009. She is the Associate Poetry Editor of the Literary Review of Canada.

The THEME for this year’s challenge is “FRIENDSHIP“
The CHALLENGE for this year’s THEME is to write a poem in any POETIC FORMÂ except free verse.
There is no limit on poem length as long as it can be read or performed in 3 minutes or less.
The audience will vote by ballot at the conclusion of the Challenge and the winner will be awarded $100.00.
PLEASE NOTE: All poems entered in this challenge (THAT DO NOT EXCEED THE MAXIMUM OF 32 LINES) are eligible to be entered in the CALL for SUBMISSIONS for the FRIENDSHIP Poetry and Prose ANTHOLOGY being published by Hidden Brook Press and edited by James Dewar and Susan Lynn Reynolds . (Deadline for submissions Feb 28th, 2010)(Entry in this contest does not guarantee acceptance to the Anthology)
