New Poetry by Pier Giorgio Di Cicco: “Names of Blessing

“Endlessly Inventive, shamelessly lyrical, at once worldly and other-worldly…a gift for tongues” – The National Post

Poet Laureate of Toronto and author of over twenty books, Pier Girogio Di Cicco once again delights and astounds in his latest collection of poetry. Replete with epigrammatic wisdom and zen-like inspiration it is an entry point into the imagination and spirituality of a man who has served as a priest, an urban consultant, and a passionate poet.

The poems are love songs: they speak to the heart and from the heart, they soar and lilt; they are epiphanies of affection and conduits of grace; they disclose the innermost feelings of the lover; they are unabashed celebrations of the Divine Lover.

In Di Cicco’s characteristic free verse the reader flows on a sensitive current rife with imagistic language. These poems are playful, energetic, filled with love, outrage, humility and regret. They bring the reader to a closer contemplation of what it is to be filled with grace in the modern urban world.
