In 2004, she won the Ray Burrell Award for Poetry, second prize, and in the fall of 2008 she won first prize in one of the Ontario Poetry Society Contests. Her third book of poems, In the Cafe du Monde, was published by Hidden Brook Press in 2008
STEVEN MICHAEL BERZENSKY [aka MICK BURRS]
Mick moved to Canada in November, 1965. Both he and his friend Kent Bowman intuitively knew what a disaster the Vietnam War would be. They understood there is always something better to live for. Peace is no cliché. Mick started writing poetry at Simon Fraser University where he was a teaching assistant. 29 chapbooks, seven books, and many edited books later, he stands here proud of co-editing with Allan Briesmaster the poetry anthology CROSSING LINES (2008). His most recent writing successes include this summer’s productions of two short Patio Plays: ASTHMA, and A QUASI-SCIENTIFIC TREATISE ON COPULATION AMONGST FRUIT FLIES.
ALLAN BRIESMASTER
Allan Briesmaster is a freelance editor, publisher, and the author of eleven poetry collections, including Interstellar (Quattro Books, 2007) and Confluences, from Seraphim Editions, which is being launched on Sunday, November 1. He lives in Thornhill.
SUE REYNOLDS
Sue Reynolds is a novelist, poet, therapeutic counsellor, creative writing teacher, and a huge fan of Kate Marshall Flaherty – has been ever since the first time she heard her read at the inaugural Hot Sauced Words back in April of 2006.
LARA BOZABALLION
Lara Bozabalian’s poetry and prose have been published in journals, magazines and newspapers, as well as in two literary anthologies. She is the author of four chapbooks, Exhale to December, The Morning Glories, New Dream and Free, and her first full length collection, The Cartographer’s Skin, will be published by Piquant Press in February 2010.
