CATHERINE OWEN

Catherine Owen’s work has appeared in periodicals such as The Dalhousie Review, The Fiddlehead and Poetry Salzburg. Titles include: Somatic – The Life and Work of Egon Schiele (Exile Editions 1998), nominated for the Gerald Lampert Award; The Wrecks of Eden (Wolsak and Wynn, 02), shortlisted for the BC Book Prize; and her recent collections, Shall: ghazals (Wolsak and Wynn, 06) and Cusp/detritus (Anvil Press, 06), both long-listed for the Relit Prize. DOG, a collaboration with Joe Rosenblatt on the sonnet form, appeared from Mansfield Press in 2008. Her new book is Frenzy, a compilation of muse-quests, from Anvil Press 2009.

A selection from Seeing Lessons, on the pioneer photographer, Mattie Gunterman was shortlisted for the CBC Literary Awards in 2007. A short story, “Food I ate With Frank” was nominated for the Matrix Lit Pop award in 2008, and two poems were shortlisted for the Earle Birney Prize in 2009. Her poems have been translated into Italian (Caneide with Joe Rosenblatt, 05), Turkish and Korean. She has a Masters degree in English (Simon Fraser University, 01 on Robinson Jeffers) and collaborates with multiple artists, including serving as bassist and singer in the bands INHUMAN and Helgrind.

HOLLAY GHADERY

Hollay Ghadery is a writer and editor living in Uxbridge, Ontario.

She has recently graduated with her Masters of Fine Arts in Creative Writing from the University of Guelph-Humber. Her poetry has been published in various literary journals throughout Canada, including Grain, The Nashwaak Review, The Kiss Machine as well as the anthologies Kingston Poets’ Gallery and ‘Scapes. Her non-fiction will be appearing in Room magazine.
