Edward Nixon was born and grew up in British Columbia, primarily in Victoria. Since 1984 he has lived in Toronto. He’s the proud father of 21-year and 9-year old sons. He has traveled extensively in Canada and the United States.

Edward is a founding partner of ENConsulting Group (ENCG) a boutique consultancy specializing in public outreach and stakeholder relations for clients in the arts, urban development and non-profit sectors. ENCG has been based at Toronto’s Centre for Social Innovation since 2007. While on a leave of absence from ENCG, he served as the Senior Advisor for Stakeholder Relations for the former Deputy Premier of Ontario. Prior to forming ENCG, Nixon worked in theatre, marketing research, fundraising and non-profit management.

He founded and curated the Toronto reading series livewords from 2008 through 2015, and curated the Diamond Cherry Reading Series from 2006 to 2007.
