NICK BEAT AND DANIELA GODINA

Nik Beat is an Irish Canadian, Toronto based poet who is regarded as one of the founders of the Neo Beat scene that erupted in Toronto twenty years ago. Disgarding his birth name, Michael Barry, Nik has been published in numerous magazines, periodicals, chapbooks anthologies and two of his own books of poetry, Cartoon Rome and Tyranny of Love.

His next book, Amazing Secret Dreams is due out in the fall of next year. He has appeared on TV such as Breakfast TV, Imprint, and The New Muisc. He currently fronts his own rock band, Tyranny of Love.

Nik Beat hosts a popular spoken word show on CIUT 89.5 FM called, Howl. He lives in the Beaches with his cat, Little Girl.

Daniela Godina is a proud Italo-Canadian fine artist and percussive poetess who lives with her parents in Bolton Ontario. She is thirty years young and has the energy and creative spark to match. She accompanies herself when doing her chanting poems with percussive instrument s, usually the Jambai.

She has performed all over Ontario as well as on radio shows such as CIUT’s Howl hosted by Nik Beat.
